Hi, I am Eileen. I am a dietitian, mom, and realist. I believe food is fuel and enjoy eating whole real foods, but I do not eat perfectly everyday (and that is okay). I specialize in digestive health and enjoy helping others make the connection between how their body feels and the foods they are using as fuel. I take time with each person to understand their nutrition concerns, create a realistic plan for optimal health and provide accountability for success. I work with patients seeking help with weight loss, diabetes, high cholesterol, sports nutrition, meal planning, feeding picky eaters, prenatal and infant nutrition, energy levels, gastrointestinal disease such as IBS, SIBO, food intolerances and more.
Understanding how food nourishes the body has played a key role in my life! Approximately ten years ago, while attending the Ohio State University to become a dietitian, I had constant stomach pain and did not understand the cause.
I am a graduate from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Medical Dietetics. Prior to starting my own practice, I worked as a dietitian for Giant Eagle Supermarkets, Nationwide Children's Hospital, and Columbus Public Health: Women, Infants and Children. While working at Giant Eagle Supermarkets, I provided individual nutrition counseling, led grocery store tours, cooking demonstrations, taught weight loss classes, provided corporate wellness programs, and represented the Giant Eagle nutrition team in media segments.
After several doctors' appointments and self-directed elimination diets, I discovered I have food intolerances. My stomach pain and GI symptoms resolved when I eliminated those foods and followed a specific diet to restore my gut health.
